Ian Anderson & The Designers Republic

A multimedia tribute to a legendary graphic designer and his studio

" Ian Anderson’s work resonates deeply with me because as obnoxiously confident and downright cocky as he is, he truly has no formal design education—yet it’s precisely that confidence, his unwavering conviction , that propelled The Designers Republic (tDR) to revolutionary status and cult following it has today.

Most of the time, I have no idea what I’m doing—even while earning a design education. So if a random guy from Sheffield can say, 'We design the world; they copy us,' say pho-ku to the establishment, and break all rules to carve out such a legacy, maybe I can find my place in design too, not knowing what the hell i’m doing."
